Weimar Pointing Dogs in Art
Photographer William Wegman tried to create conceptual amateur films, but his Weimar pointer Maine Ray got into the frame all the time. And Wegman decided to photograph him. The dog turned out to be unusually photogenic, and in the 70s his image could be seen in elite art galleries and in popular television shows.
By 1982, Man Ray became part of the bohemian art society of New York. He was even called "Man of the Year" (pun: "Maine" translates as "man").
